week 14

Phase 3 Presentationn (A4)
Week 14 focused on the presentation. While some of us worked on packaging our process-to-date into a compelling story, others worked on the ShareSpace interface and the Flash scenario.

Some presentation highlights: the Sharespace mat interface, our future scenario, our new product logos and product names.

We were given some great constructive feedback from the presentation, and seem to be well-positioned for the big presentation in a few weeks.

week 13

Lo-fi Prototyping
Our team conducted more testing using the lo-fidelity prototype that Ben used in New York City. We continued to refine and iterate on our product and interface design.

Why Divers?
So we get why we chose why divers, but we kept getting asked by our peers - "So why divers?". We prepared a Powerpoint that works through "why," and how our product vision benefits this user group.

Picture Sorting Test
We closed the week with the team sharing media from a shared social event, around a table as a way of understanding the collaborative sharing space that we’re designing.

Product Branding Initiative
Upon classes beginning again the team assembled and reviewed the previous project phase. We concentrated on strengthening the collective project vision. We discussed the idea of creating a brand around our concept. We came to a consensus on the parts of the system that we wanted to articulate in this project: A digital dive log, a collaborative sharing space, and a glyph as physical container that mediates the other elements of the system.

week 12

Solidification - Users test the Interface
Over Spring Break Courtney surveyed people regarding the way that they collect and manage media and memorabilia when traveling. We also interviewed a diver freshly returned from a dive trip about his experiences and the social interactions that surrounded the journey.

Multi-Product Interface Research
As a means of informing ourselves as to the current technology; Anne, Bella, and Ian conducted a short study of camera phones, focussing on the interface issues surrounding these compact multifunctional devices.

Talking to Divers and Travelers
Over Spring Break, Ben travelled to New York City and interviewed divers about their information-sharing-angsts and tested a lo-fidelity prototype to gain insight as to how our solution might help them in the future.

Anne, Bella, and Ian also interviewed a traveler about the way that she annotates and organizes her travel albums and the way that the finished albums fit into her life.
